Gadchiroli Jan. 9 (District correspondent) Self-discipline, contribution to society, collective discussion, punctuality, composure, attitude of helping each other, co-operation, sympathy, mutual love are developed through the National Service Scheme, which definitely helps to blossom one’s personality. Therefore, NSS is the factory of manufacturing cultured citizens, said Mr. Dheeraj Patil, Block Development Officer of Kurkheda Panchayat Samiti.

He was speaking at the concluding programme of special NSS camp  at Dattak village Erandi under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan organized jointly by Srhi Govindrao Munghate College of Arts and Sciences and Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University Study Center at village Yerandi in Kurkheda taluka the other day.

The program was presided over by the President of Dandakaranya Sanstha Dr. Rajabhau Munghate. Principal Dr. Vandanatai Munghate, Sarpanch Santosh Hichami, Police Patil Chokhobaji Sakhre, prominent artist Vishweshwar Gahane, Vilasji Lohambale, Kusanji Hidko, Vice Principal P. S. Khope, Prof. Narendra Arekar, NSS Head Dr. Gunwant Wadpalliwar, Student Council President Vineet Kachinwar, Suraj Sakhre were present.

In this seven-day camp, various activities were organized in the village. Assistant Commissioner of Animal Husbandry Dr. Meshram inspected 372 animals and informed the villagers about livestock. Vice Principal P. S. Khope guided on voting rights, Ms. Shubhada Deshmukh guided on health, Dr. Harshal Atram conducted a free health examination and distributed free medicine. Agriculture Officer Sanjay Ramteke guided farmers on modern agriculture, water management, soil testing etc. Various cultural programmes were also organized during the camp.

Principal Dr. Rajabhau Munghate said that this camp is definitely useful for building the future of the students. The various programs conducted will develop their life skills. The values of equality, brotherhood, scientific approach, etc. have been inculcated in this camp. Students should discover themselves and learn to love and increase intellectual level. They should stay away from bad addictions and get addicted to the habits of singing, reading, writing etc., he adviced.

Dr. Gunwant Wadapalliwar read out the report, program was conducted by Ms. Divya Gaykwad, and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Ravindra Vikhar.  Dr. Sandeep Kathange, Dr.Rakhi Shambharkar, Prof. Harish Bawanthade, Suresh Mangar, Pramod Lohambale and others took pains for the success of the programme.
