Gadchiroli Feb. 4 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli -Chimur Lok Sabha MP Ashok Nete met Mr.  Arjun Munda, Union Minister for Scheduled Tribes Affairs, Government of India and submitted him a memorandum about the opening of sports academy for Boxing, Archery at Gadchiroli.

Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency is a remote, naxal-infested, tribal-dominated backward area of ​​Maharashtra where agriculture is the main source of livelihood. Tribal and non-tribal youths are skilled in sports. They have participated in Khelo India programme and showed their performance.

However, as there is no sports academy here, they are deprived of proper training and they are not able to get selected in other academies, pointed out Mr. Nete.

Yashodeep Sanstha is providing 15 acres of land for sports activities in Gadchiroli district that will be helpful to establish sports academy in Gadchiroli Chimur constituency. If such an academy is established in Gadchiroli, youths will get the platform of proper training in sports and will show their excellence all over the country, hoped Mr. Nete and demanded that the said academy be opened in Gadchiroli as a special case.

Former Vice President of Gadchiroli Municipal Council Arun Harde, Nanabhau Nakade, Jessa Motwani and other activists were present during this meeting.
