Gadchiroli Aug. 3 (District correspondent) The ‘Mandal Yatra’ taken out for creating awareness among the OBCs, VJNT and SBC classes, was accorded grand welcome on its arrival to the city recently.
The dignitaries and activists from various like-minded organizations and political parties welcomed the workers participating in the yatra. After this, the activists participating in the mandal yatra Mr. Umesh Koram and Mr. Prashant Bele gave the details of the yatra which has been moving since July 30 th last. The slogans like wake up OBCs- wake up, implement the Mandal Commission, conduct the caste wise census etc were shouted on the occasion.
They also explained the importance of the eight-day journey and also described the experiences during the yatra. Mr. Dinanath Waghmare, Subhash Uke, Sanjeev Bhure, Swaroop Chavan were also accompanying the yatra that is going to be concluded on Aug. 6 next at Nagpur.
Congress Party State General Secretary Dr. Namdeo kirsan, President of Sarvodaya Mandal Mr. Devanand Kamdi, Vitthalrao Kothare, OBC Mahasangha’s MD Chalakh, former councilor Ramesh Choudhary, Rajnikant Motghare, also guided the OBC brothers about their problems.
The yatra then proceeded for its further journey to Chandrapur. The program was moderated by the District Secretary of Sarvodaya Mandal Mr. Vilas Nimbokar and vote of thanks was given by Prof. Mr. Purushottam Thakre. A large number of activists including Anil Naitam, Tularam Naitam, Anup Kohle, Anil Kothare, Balu Amborkar and others were present on this occasion.
