Gadchiroli Jan. 31 (District Correspondent) The death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was observed by various organizations in the city.

At Gadchiroli District Congress Committee office, a portrait of Gandhiji was garlanded by Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Dr. Namdev Kirsan and rich tributes were paid to the departed leader.

Truth and non-violence were the greatest weapons of Mahatma Gandhi through which he fought and for the freedom movement of the country. These values are needed to be followed even today, said Dr. Kirsan while addressing the workers.

City President Satish Vidhate, Scheduled Caste Cell President Rajinikanth Motghare, Kisan Cell President Vamanrao Savsakde, Social Media Cell President Sanjay Channe, Transport Cell President Rupesh Tickle, Taluk President Vasant Raut, former ZP member Kusumtai Alam, Dilip Ghodam, Sunil Chadgulwar, Devaji Sontakke, Harbaji More, Kashinath Bhadke, Sanjay Meshram, Rakesh Ratnawar, Rajendra Kukdakar, Bhaiyaji Muddamwar, Aparnatai Khewle, Ashatai Meshram were prominently present along with Congress functionaries and workers on this occasion.

KHADI MANDAL– At Khadi Gramodyog Bhandar Martyr’s Day was observed in association with Gadchiroli Zilla Sarvodaya Mandal. Ex-Police Patil Sukhdev Patil Barsagde, President of Senior Citizens Association Pandurang Ghotekar, District Secretary of Gurudev Seva Mandal Pandit Pudke, President of Sarvodaya Mandal Prof. Devanand Kamdi, Maharashtra Andhasraddha Nirmulan Samiti State Co-ordinator Vilas Nimborkar, Social Worker Manohar Hepat, Devrao Bhogewar, Purushottam Siddam, Ganesh Chaudhary were present.

The portrait of Mahatma Gandhi was garlanded and two minutes silence was observed in his memory. The activists then threw light on the life of Gandhiji.

MAHA ANIS—At the district office of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti similar programme was organized under the chairmanship of Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, State Co-ordinator. District Working President Vitthalrao Kothare, Principal Secretary Purushottam Thackeray City Vice President Wamanrao Bhoyar, Haridas Kotarange were present.

Glowing tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his portrait and keeping silence for two minutes on the occasion. The program was moderated by Mr. Upendra Rohankar and vote of thanks was given by Ms. Priyanka Nimbokar.
