Gadchiroli Dec. 18 (District correspondent) The iron project started by Lloyds Metals company will change the identity of Gadchiroli said Mr. Ajitdada Pawar, Dy. Chief Minister of Maharashtra while speaking to the media persons after paying a visit to the Konsari Steel Plant situated near village Konsari in Chamorshi taluka on Sunday. The project will also help in curbing the naxalism in the district, he hoped.

Mr. Dharmarao Baba Atram, minister for food and Drugs Administration, Director of the Lloyds Project Prabhakaran, DIG of Gadchiroli Range Sandeep Patil, District Collector Sanjay Meena, SP Nilotpal were prominently present on the occasion.

Mr. Pawar further said that the district of Gadchiroli has the high-quality iron like Orissa and it is going to be a blessing for the people of the district. Because of the steel plant of Jamshedpur, the very face of that city changed and it was developed. The face of Gadchiroli district will also change because of the Konsari and Surjagad projects, he hoped.

As there is high-quality iron in the district, it will be exported to the foreign countries from which our country will get the foreign currency also, besides strengthening the economy, Mr. Pawar further hoped. Three private railway lines are proposed to be laid for the transportation of the iron ore, he told.

The unemployed youths of the district have got an employment due to these projects and will continue to get it in the future too, which will be beneficial for empowering the youths and the people here, Mr. Pawar further said. The state government will provide all the necessary help to this project, he assured.

The farmers in the area whose agricultural lands are to be acquired for the industry, will be given due compensation and the local people will be given jobs in the project, he promised. The basic facilities for the industry will be provided and the district will be connected to the Samruddhi Mahamarg, he informed.

The state government as well as the company will take due care about maintaining the environment of the area. It will be ensured that no any damage to the environment is caused by the industry, he added. The large-scale forest available in the district will help to control the pollution, he hoped.

Many private companies have purchased the mines in the district for raising their industries. However, the state government also is thinking positively to acquire some of the mines. The issue is being discussed by the leaders of the state government, Mr. Pawar told.

Mr. Pawar inspected the project during this visit. Mr. Prabhakarn gave the details of the project and other related activities to the ministers.
