Kargil Memorial inaugurated at Gadchiroli

Gadchiroli Aug. 23 (District Correspondent)Kargil Memorial raised by the Municipal Council in a square near Weekly Market on Chandrapur Road was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Ashok Nete, MP recently.

Retired Brigadier Suhas Kulkarni presided over the programme while Gadchiroli MLA Dr. Deorao Holi, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pranil Gilda, former Municipal Chief Yogita Pipere, District Head of Gurudev Seva Mandal Dr. Shivnath Kumbhare, Kargil Smarak President Uday Dhakate, CO of Municipal council Vishal Wagh were prominently present.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Nete appreciated the work of Municipal council and initiative taken by Kargil Chouk Durga Utsava Mandal to raise the memorial saying the monument has not only added to the beauty of the city it has become a place of inspiration for the people.

Brig. Kulkarni, who had participated in the Kargil war and was specially invited for the function said I am moved to see the Kargil memorial commemorating the brave soldiers who were martyred in the Kargil war and the love and devotion of the people of district towards the Indian soldiers. This memorial will always inspire the people of the region, he hoped.

Mr.  Vishal Wagh delivered introductory speech and gave the details of the memorial.  On behalf of the city council, Brigadier Kulkarni was felicitated at the hands of President of Kargil Memorial Chowk Uday Dhakate . Mrs. Sujata Kulkarni was also felicitated by Ms. Suchita Dhakate by presenting her a bouquet and saree.

Also present on the occasion were Prakash Bhandekar,  Revnath Govardhan, Narendra Channawar, Mobin Syed, Sunil Deshmukh, Nilima Deshmukh, Nadeem Sheikh, Shankar Naitam, Dr. Naresh Bidkar, Sunil Bavane.

Mr. Bandopant Bodhekar conducted the programme and also proposed the vote of thanks.  Mr. Dilip Manusmare, Raj Pandilwar, Tushar Dudhbale, Mahadev Kamble, Balu Motghare, Mahesh Gedam, Rupesh Salame, Vivek Bais, Bablu Katare, Rajesh Dongre, Mahendra Masram , Vijay Surpam, Raj Dongre,  Afaz Mansuri, Ajay Surpam  and others took pains for the success of the programme.
