Gadchiroli Jan. 15 (District correspondent) A four-day international film festival was organized by the Movie Club of Sri Govindrao Munghate College of Arts and Sciences, Kurkheda recently. The festival under the title Vasundhara was sponsored by Kirloskar was held in virtual mode.
This film festival was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Atul Kirloskar and Dr. Rajabhau Munghate, Principal of the college. Vice Principal P. S. Khope, Movie Club Coordinator Dr. Ganesh Satpute, NRC Coordinator Dr. Bhaskar Tupte were prominently present.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Rajabhau Munghate said that many such activities had been implemented in the college by the movie club. For two days, many small films, Chandrayaan- 3, were shown successfully to the students and local people in the college with the main theme of ‘Gender Equality’ in association with the Mawa organization. Through this kind of film festival, the students and the society are definitely helped to get enlightened on many issues, he said.
More than hundred short films were screened online. including My Encounter with Cinema, People Form Deadly Road Silent, Forest of Diversifications, First Food Recipe, Guler Ka Choka, Sanas, Kirloskar and Environmental Protection, Local Matter, Pollution Classes, Green Economy of Green Future, The Singapore etc.
Every year a film festival week is organized from 26th January to 31st January by Munghate College Movie Club. In this, many short films based on social, cultural, literary, educational, scientific matters are shown to the students. Asserting that the aim of this movie club is that the students should watch such films and make small films, many short films were shown this year too.
The program was conducted by Dr. Ganesh Satpute and Dr. Nikesh Lokhande proposed the vote of thanks. To make this program successful, Dr. Rakhi Shambharkar, all the members of the movie club of the college and all the students gave valuable support.
