Flood Commission members to visit Gadchiroli on Dec. 5.

Gadchiroli Dec. 2 (District Correspondent) The President of Vidarbha Flood Commission and renowned economist Dr. Srinivas Khandewale will visit Gadchiroli on Dec. 5 next along with other members of the commission to understand the flood situation in the district.

Farmers and other citizens have suffered huge losses due to floods in the last two years, and many could not recover from it. Therefore, to know the social and economic consequences of this flood, the commission has organized this visit.

The Maharashtra Kisan Sabha has formed the Vidarbha Flood Commission, which includes environmental expert Manish Rajankar (Bhandara), water expert Pradeep Purandare (Pune), senior journalist Prabhakar Kondbattunwar (Nagpur), FID director Kaustubh Pandharipande (Yavatmal), Prof. Dr. Gunwant Wadpalliwar.  All these members will be present during the tour.  The Commission is going to know the views of flood affected farmers, citizens, experts in various fields, journalists and office bearers of political parties at Circuit House on Monday between 3 pm and 5 pm.

State Vice President of Maharashtra State Kisan Sabha Dr. Mahesh Kopulwar, Central Vice President of All India Republican Party Rohidas Raut, District Secretary of Shetkari Kamgar Party Ramdas Jarate have appealed to the flood affected farmers of Gadchiroli district, experts in various fields, journalists and citizens to present their problems in written and oral form.

District Secretary of Communist Party of India Devrao Chawale, Adv. Jagdish Meshram, district in-charge of Bahujan Republican Socialist Party Raj Bansod, District Secretary of Marxist Communist Party Amol Marakwar, PWP’s Hemant Dorlikar, Kailas Sharma, Prateek Dange, Purushottam Ramteke also have appealed the people to present their views on the subject of flood.
