Dr. Ambedkar’s message of education be followed- Dr. Wankar.

Gadchiroli April 15 (District Correspondent) Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar gave the message of education to Dalits and under privileged people of the country because he believed that education is the key of developing vision and wisdom. The message of Babasaheb should therefore be adopted and children should be persuaded to take higher education not only to grab bigger positions but to attain sense of understanding, said Prof. Dr. Sneha Wankar of the Gondwana university while speaking at the Ambedkar Jayanti programme at Samyak Buddha vihara here on Sunday.

The programme that was organized jointly by Samyak Samaj Samiti and Vishakha Mahila Mandal was presided over by Mr. Hansraj Undirwade, President of the Samiti while Adv. Dilip Madavi, social worker, Kawduji Undirwade of Samyak Senior Citizens Association, Nanaji Maharaj Wadhai of Gurudev Sewa Mandal, Ms. Sumitra Raut and Manisha Walke of the Vishakha Mahila Mandal were prominently present.

A Buddha Vandana was recited and flag was hoisted at the beginning of the programme.

Prof. Wankar, elaborating the importance of education, further said that education is such a weapon by which so many things can be achieved. Dr. Ambedkar fought against the orthodox society only on the strength of his knowledge and education. His personality should be the real ideal before the students and the society. Women should give special attention towards education, she stressed.

Adv. Madavi said all the sections of society need to accept and follow the thoughts of Dr. Ambedkar as he worked for the betterment of all the backward classes and the countrymen. The gap of inequality should be removed as soon as possible for the progress of the society. Democracy is the best model given in the constitution of India which needs to be strengthened, he advised.

Mr. Pradeep Bhaisare made an introductory speech, Narendra Undirwade conducted the programme and Jagan Jambhulkar proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of people attended the programme that was followed by a musical programme.
