Gadchiroli Oct. 7 (District correspondent) The Congress Party workers staged demonstrations on Friday against the BJP for ‘constantly defaming the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’.

A large number of party workers assembled at Indira Square of the city and shouted slogans against BJP and expressed their anger over the party. District Comgress President Mahendra Bramhanwade led the agitation.

After the successful completion of ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, taken out by Mr. Rahul Gandhi, his popularity is increasing day by day in the country that is why BJP is indulged in his character assassination and defamation by one way or the other, said Mr. Bramhanwade while speaking on the occasion. He demanded unconditional apology from the BJP leadership for this, he also demanded.

Rahul Gandhi has been constantly touring the country and meeting the various sections of society including the poor people, women, youth, farmers and all the common citizens of the country. During these meetings, he has been interacting with the people, taking their questions and asking the government to answer them. Therefore, the BJP government at the centre is scared and in order to discredit Rahulji Gandhi and distract the attention of the common citizens from the issue of basic development, BJP is constantly defaming Rahulji Gandhi in one or the other case, he further alleged.

The BJP should stop this anti propaganda and defamation immediately, Bramhanwade demanded warning to launch intensive agitation in the future.

On this occasion Maharashtra Pradesh Congress General Secretary Dr. Namdev Kirsan, Regional Secretary Dr. Nitin Kodawate, former ZP Vice President Manohar Poretti, City President Satish Vidhate, Mahila Congress President Adv. Kavita Moharkar, Taluka President Vasant Raut, Cooperation Cell President Abdulbhai Panjwani, Social Media Cell President Sanjay Channe, Teachers Cell President Dattatray Kharwade, Transport Cell President Rupesh Tikle, Congress Leaders Harbaji More, Anil Kothare, Lalaji Satpute, Manohar Navghade, Prabhakar Kubde, Subhash Dhait, Kamlesh Khobragade, Bandopant Chitmalwar, Praful Amborkar, Majid Syed, Baburao Gadsulwar,  Nitesh Rathod, Javed Khan, Aparna Khewle, Asha Meshram, Kalpana Nandeshwar, Rita Govardhan and large number of Congress workers and office bearers participated in the agitation.
