Gadchiroli March 8 (District Correspondent) A bullock belonging to one Sindhutai Kaliram Narote of village Mahawada in Dhanora taluka was killed in a tiger attack in a farm just near village early this morning.
The tiger caught hold of the bullock into its neck and dragged it for about 20 meters in the field of a village farmer which is on the outskirts of the village. The bullock was found dead in the morning upon which forest officials of Mohli were intimated.
On getting the news, forest officials rushed to the spot and conducted panchanama. A post-mortem was also conducted on the dead bullock and further investigations are on. Quite a terror has spread among the villagers following this incident as it has taken place just on the outskirts of the village.
The district has been witnessing many incidents of the tiger attack for the last two years. Many people and animals have been killed in these attacks. In Mahawada area however, this is the first incident and the villagers are frightened over the incident.
The villagers have demanded early compensation to the farmer.
