Gadchiroli July 26 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha MP Ashok Nete has sought the attention of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah towards the problems of the district of Gadchiroli and has urged him to pay an urgent attention towards these problems.
Mr. Nete personally met Mr. shah in New Delhi recently and submitted him a detailed memorandum about the problems and discussed them with the Minister.
Gadchiroli district is known as an underdeveloped district with a tribal population. This district has a large amount of mineral wealth such as diamonds, emeralds, gold, magnets, iron etc. Despite all of this natural property and resources, there are large industries, factories in the district. Due to the lack of development of the district, there is also high percentage of unemployment, pointed out Nete.
As Gadchiroli district is covered by forests, there are many problems related to roads, electric lines, railways etc. Gadchiroli district is heavily affected by Naxals and a large amount of funds are needed to be made available to provide good geographical and infrastructural facilities in this district. So that this backward area is benefited, further stated Mr. Nete.
There is only one railway line in the district in Wadsa (Desaiganj) and a tender of Rs. 322 crores have been issued for the work of this railway. Soon the work of this railway line will speed up, Nete informed and invited the Minister Amit Shah and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to Gadchiroli for the inauguration of this railway line.
A total of five barrages have been approved on the banks of Wainganga River in Gadchiroli district. Among them the work of Chichdoh has been completed and the work of Kotgal Barrages is going on. The work of three barrages will be started soon. Mr. Nete also extended invitation for the inauguration of these projects.
During this meeting, Mr. Nete assured the home minister Shah to resolve the problems of Gadchiroli -Chimur Lok Sabha constituency as well various areas of Gadchiroli district.
