Gadchiroli Nov. 15 (District Correspondent) All India Republican Party has demanded early replacement of the faulty electric meters and billing of agricultural power connections as per actual consumption.
A delegation of the party workers met the Superintending Engineer of MSEDCL in his office today under the leadership of Mr. rohidas Raut, Central vice President of the party and submitted him a memorandum in this regard.
The electric meters of many consumers in Gadchiroli taluka are faulty due to which reading of these meters is not as per actual consumption. The consumers have to pay the additional amount in want of actual consumption. This is quite difficult for the people and they are not able to pay such higher bills.
All the faulty meters should therefore be replaced immediately and financial burden on the consumers be stopped, it was demanded in the memorandum.
Similarly, electric bills of the agricultural pumps also are charged without any meter reading due to which the farmers have to pay the extra bills without consumption of electricity. The bills of agricultural pumps should therefore be charged as per actual consumption, it was further demanded.
The rural areas of Gadchiroli taluka are being supplied very irregular and disrupted power supply for the last many days and the people have to face many problems. The regular and uninterrupted power supply should therefore be made, it was also demanded.
The Republican party will launch agitation if these problems are not solved immediately, it was warned. Mr. Keshaorao Samrutwar, Pradesh Secretary, Ashok Khbragade, Office Secretary, Narendra Raipure, District Youth President, Venubai Godbole of women front were present in the delegation.
