Gadchiroli May 27 (District Correspondent) The newly appointed Congress District President, Adv. Vishwajeet Marotrao Kowase, was accorded grand felicitation with great enthusiasm by the Congress workers in an oath-taking ceremony and a farmers’ rally on the Poreddiwar grounds here on Tuesday evening.
The event was held under the presidentship of Congress Legislative leader Vijay Wadettiwar. former MP Marotrao Kowase, Adivasi Congress State President Prof. Vasant Purke, secretary of national youth congress Kunal Chaudhari, State youth congress chief Shivraj More, Youth Congress secretary Ajay Chikara, state in charge of youth congress Navjtotsingh Siddhu, MLC Abhijeet Vanjari, MLA Ramdas Masram, state secretary, Pankaj Guddewar, state general secretary Ravindra Darekar, senior leader Prakash Itankar, Adiwasi congress women’s coordinator Kusum Alam, Ajay Kankadalwar, former municipal chief Rambhau Meshram, Samsher Pathan, Bandubhau Shaniware, Madhuri Madavi, were prominently present.
As soon as Vijay Wadettiwar and newly appointed District President Adv. Vishwajeet Kowase arrived in the Indira Gandhi square of the city, they were welcomed with fireworks and large garlands beating of drums and shouting of slogans. Later on, the leaders were taken into a procession on an open jeep to the venue of programme.
Addressing the huge gathering of the Congress workers and supporters, Wadettiwar said the congress organization will further strengthen in the district of Gadchiroli under the leadership of Vishwajeet Kowase. Loyalty is always important in the party. If you are loyal to the party, party will take care of you, he stated giving indirect message to some congress functionaries who have been trying to oppose Mr. Kowase since the day of his appointment.
Referring to the slogan of BJP leaders to make the country congress free, Wadettiwar said no any force on the earth can eliminate the grand old party because it is rooted among the masses. Those speaking to uproot the congress will be wiped out by the people one day, he said.
While replying to the felicitation, Vishwajit Kovase expressed his gratitude towards the congress party for entrusting him with a major responsibility and thanked all senior leaders for it. He said that while Gadchiroli district is being made Naxal-free, a situation has now arisen where farmers are being pushed out. Farmers are being forced to work as labourers, he alleged, and expressed his determination to raise his voice against the government’s policies.
The other leaders also expressed their views on the occasion and extended their best wishes to Mr. Kowase. The district has got a young and dashing congress president in the form of Mr. Vishwajeet Kowase, the opined.
