Adv. Bodhi Ramteke’s book ‘Nyay’ released.

Gadchiroli Nov. 8 (District Correspondent) ‘Nyay’, a book written by well known lawyer and social activist Adv. Bodhi Ramteke was released recently in a programme held in the premises of ideal village Lekha-Mendha in Dhanora taluka.

Mr. Naren Gedam, social worker, presided over the programme while Dr. Deorao Holi, MLA, Dr. Dewaji Tofa, social worker, Adv. Lalsu Nogoti, former ZP councillor, Ms. Kusum Alam, tribal litterateur, Rohidas Raut, journalist, Ms. Yashodhara Usendi were the chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion welcomed the initiative of Adv. Bodhi and hoped that the book would be useful for the comman people in availing justice. Its really a good thing that a youth from the place like Gadchiroli has come forward as an author on the important subject of justice, he said and appreciated the initiative.

Adv. Nogoti dwelt upon the exploitation and injustice being meted out to the tribals and said it is very unfortunate that no any concrete steps are being taken by the government all over the country to redress the plights of the aboriginal residents. He underlined the need of coming together by all the like-minded people to tackle the issue.

Mr. Tofa said tribals are always described as backwards but it is not so. Tribal culture is great and it needs to be maintained. Ms. Alam said tribals are deprived of the basic facilities and human rights and are being subjected to injustice even after 75 years of Independence.

In his presidential speech, Mr. Gedam said that the problems of tribals and Dalits have remained unsolved till now. Caste based social system needs to be demolished and the Constitution of India should be implemented effectively for giving justice to all the people. The new book will become a useful tool for the people in approaching the govt. machinery seeking justice, he hoped.

As many as 12 workers from different parts of the district working in social and tribal welfare field were felicitated on the occasion by presenting them ‘Samaj Prerak’ awards at the hands of the guests.

Mr. Dharmanand Meshram made an introductory speech. Adv. Bodhi Ramteke gave the details of his book. Dr. Pankaj Narule conducted the programme and Itihas Meshram proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of people including Gram Sabha members, villagers attended the programme.
