Gadchiroli Dec. 30 (District Correspondent) Charismas was celebrated at Samta Nagar here with a great enthusiasm recently.
The community people, along with men, women and children assembled at the prayer hall with colourful dresses and sang the songs on the life of Jesus Christ and danced merrily to mark the festival.
Paster Deepak Kankam, Paster David Mohurle were the special guests on the occasion while Mr. Shankar Jagannath, Nagesh Kumbhatre, Ramesh Kandelwar, Sunita Kumbhare, Danial Kandelwar were prominently present.
Senior journalist and social worker Rohidas Raut was felicitated by presenting him shawl and bouquet at the hands of the organizers for his services to the Samta Nagar hutment area. The newly elected municipal councilors were also felicitated on the occasion.
In his discourse, Mr. Deepak Kankam spoke about the life of Jesus and said he gave the message of love, peace and brotherhood. These values are very much useful to the modern society as well and the people should follow it, he appealed.
The other guests also extended their best wishes to the community members. Mr. Tushar Naitam conducted the programme and also proposed the vote of thanks. A community meal was organized on the occasion. A large number of people attended the programme.
Mr. Hiraman Jagannath, Israyal Kumbhare, Narsinha Jagannath, Mithun Gedam, Rakesh Wadhai, Balu Chaudhari, Kisan Gedam and others took pains for the success of the programme.
