Gadchiroli Oct. 14 (District Correspondent) Alleging large scale irregularities in the voters list of the district, Gadchiroli district Congress Committee has demanded early measures to correct the voters list.

A delegation of Congress office bearers led by District Congress President Mahendra Brahmanawade met the district collector Avishyant Panda in his office here on Monday and submitted him a representation. A detailed list of voters who were registered twice was also given to the collector.

A large number of voters have been registered twice and more than once in the electoral roll of Gadchiroli district. In this context, it was demanded that necessary action be taken and the names of such voters should be removed from the list.

Also, although the last date for checking the electoral roll and registering objections has been fixed as October 14, many gram panchayats have not yet received the electoral rolls. Due to this, voters are facing difficulties in checking their names, it was pointed out in the memorandum and was demanded that the deadline for registering objections on the electoral roll be extended.

Former Z.P. President Ajay Kankadlawar, former Z.P. Vice President Manohar Patil Poretti, Congress State Secretary Hanumanthu Madavi, Gadchiroli Taluka President Vasant Raut, District Vice President Netaji Gavture, Diwakar Nisar, Aju Pathan, Srinivas Tatpalliwar and other office bearers and activists were present.
