Gadchiroli Aug. 16 (District Correspondent) Samidha College of Civil Services Adapalli (Gogaon) celebrated Independence Day with great joy and enthusiasm. On this occasion, the national flag was hoisted by senior social worker and journalist Rohidas Raut.

A national anthem and flag song was recited to mark the occasion. The preamble of the constitution of India was also read out.

Mr. Kalidas Raut, President Samidha Foundation Gadchiroli, presided over the programme while Mr. Gautam Meshram, District Convenor of Samvidhan Foundation, Mr. Tularam Raut, Retired Education Extension Officer, Ms. Aruna Raut Madam, Manoj Dholane, Principal of the college, Prof. Vinod Kunghadkar, Prof. Sunil Bhurse, Ms. Kanchan Rajgadkar, Mithun Urade were prominently present.

At the programme held at the college meeting hall, many students gave their emotional speeches and sang patriotic songs based on the Independence Day. The students included Lankesh Undirwade, Aachal Ade, Anjali Thakre, Khushbu Waghdhare, Dhanashree Thakre, Disha Latare, Shravani Naitam.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rohidas Raut threw light on the freedom movement and the great sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. The heroes from the district of Gadchiroli also have contributed a great in the freedom movement, he pointed out. The Indian state turned into a peoples Republic after the constitution came to force. It is the duty of every citizen to safeguard the unity of the country.

The other guests also expressed their views on the importance and history of the Independence Day appealing the students to repose their commitment for the progress of the country.

The program was introduced by Principal Manoj Dholane, moderated by Prof. Ankush Gohane and the vote of thanks was given by Prof. Pritam Kohpare.
