Gadchiroli Aug. 16 (District Correspondent) On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the national flag was hoisted by Co-Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Jaiswal in the premises of the Collector’s Office.

District Collector Avishyant Panda, SP Nilotpal, MP Dr. Namdevrao Kirsan, MLA Dr. Milind Narote, CEO Suhas Gade, Assistant Collector Ranjit Yadav, Additional Collector Nitin Gawande were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Jaiswal expressed government resolve to create a prosperous employment-generating and a perfect Gadchiroli through various developmental works.

The image of this district, which was once known as naxal-affected, is now changing to development-oriented and progressive. The Chief Minister has expressed optimism that in the future, Gadchiroli district will be included in the top ten districts of Maharashtra in terms of per capita income and the government is working rapidly in this direction. The state government is committed to development works in Gadchiroli and necessary funds are being provided for it, he added.

Many ambitious projects are currently underway in the district including national highways, dams on rivers to increase irrigation facilities. The government is trying to solve the employment problem in the district. Efforts are being made to provide employment. Special promotion is being given to the agriculture and tourism sector to improve the economic condition of the district. Bonus is being given to 100 percent paddy producing farmers, to brand the wild vegetables of the district. New projects have been undertaken to promote fishing, which will be completed soon.

Use of technology like AI will be used to overcome major challenges in the development such as forest-related problems, irrigation issues, and damage caused by wild elephants, he said. The District Collector and all administrative staff have been appealed to work accordingly and take Gadchiroli forward. The government has launched a new campaign for rural development, “Mukhyamantri Samriddhi Panchayat Raj Abhiyan”, and he also appealed the panchayats to participate in it.

Seven officials of the police force were congratulated for being awarded the President’s Medals. He also appreciated the district administration for its good work. On this occasion, officers and employees who have performed excellently in various fields were specially felicitated by the Minister and the dignitaries present.

The program was attended by senior citizens, farmers, various office bearers, officers, employees, journalists and citizens of the district.
