Gadchiroli July 30 (District Correspondent) The Central Government has finally approved the establishment of a separate Divisional Office and Head Post Office of the Postal Department in Gadchiroli. Gadchiroli Chimur Lok Sabha MP Dr. Namdev Kirsan had continuously pursued this issue at the central government level and his tireless efforts have finally been successful.

This is considered to be the historic and very important decision for the district of Gadchiroli. This was a long-standing demand of the citizens, officials and public representatives of the district for the past many years.

It has been about 42 years since the establishment of Gadchiroli district, but till date there was no separate Head Post Office or Divisional Office here. Due to this, the citizens of the district had to travel to Chandrapur to avail various postal services, department-related works, as well as government schemes. This was wasting time, money and resources.

The Directorate of Posts of the Ministry of Communications, Government of India has given in-principle approval to the proposal of Maharashtra Circle, and Gadchiroli MDG (HSG-I) will be converted into a Head Post Office and a new Gadchiroli Postal Division will be created by dividing the existing Chandrapur Postal Division.

With this historic decision, the citizens of Gadchiroli district will no longer have to rush to Chandrapur for postal services. Since all services will be available in the district itself, effective implementation of schemes will be possible up to the rural areas.

MP Dr. Namdev Kirsan, expressing happiness over this decision, said, “This is a big step for the development of Gadchiroli. This demand was pending for many years. This decision will give the district an independent identity in the postal sector and will bring great relief to the citizens.”
