Gadchiroli July 26 (District Correspondent) Thanks to the negligence and carelessness of the authorities concerned, the situation of Primary Health Centre at village Wadadha in Armori taluka has turned very pathetic.
The grass and shrubs have grown all around the premises of the PHC which has become quite dangerous for the visitors and the staff members also. This grass has become the shelter for the snakes and other creatures which seldom enter the inner parts of the PHC building and cause dangerous situation for the patients.
During rains the entire premises is turned into a tank as no any arrangements for the drainage have been made by the PHC administration. The nurses and other staff members have to walk through this dirty water to reach the health centre and go back to their residences situated in the premises itself.
Many a times they have a threat of the snakes and other creatures living in the stagnant water. Even after this serious situation, the PHC authorities have done nothing to resolve the issue that is being faced for the last many years and the visiting patients have been suffering this mess.
In want of regular cleaning of the premises, dirt of the grass and other garbage has spread around the PHC which always keeps stinking thereby making it difficult for the visitors to breath freely and has been hazardous for their health.
The worst part of this PHC is that the pipe line of drinking water which supplies water to the PHC and the residential complex, has not been changed for the last many years and the patients and the staff members are constrained to consume the very unsafe and contaminated water risking their lives.
More than 100 patients visit this PHC every day for their treatment but the Medical Officer very rarely visits the centre and has been quite negligent not only towards all these problems but the patients too. When these problems will be solved is a million-dollar question before the people.
