Gadchiroli Dec. 10 (District Correspondent) The anniversary of the Lloyds Kali Ammal Memorial Hospital located at a remote village of Hedri in Etapalli taluka was organized the other day on the completion of 1 year of the hospital.

Since the people of remote areas in Gadchiroli district did not have access to a hospital, Mr. B. Prabhakaran, Managing Director of the Lloyds Metal and Energy Limited Iron Ore Mines Surajgad, opened Lloyds Kali Ammal Memorial Hospital in the Surajgad mine area and started free services to all the people in the area one year back.

The 30-bed multispecialty hospital provides all basic and advanced services to all sections of the society with adequate management. Among the available facilities are Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, General Surgeon, General Medicine. Dermatologist Anaesthetist, Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Specialist. Physician, Dietician, Intensive Care Unit, NICU, Outpatient Department and Inpatient Department.

The patients are treated by a total of 12 experienced and expert doctors and 40 skilled nurses and supporting staff working 24 hours in three shifts. Diagnostic facilities include Pathology, Sonography for women. Digital X-ray, ECG TMT, Spirometry, Audiometry. It has a Vaidu Hospital where treatment by natural methods, as well as treatment and guidance by village doctors is given.

More than 61,000 patients have been treated by this hospital in a year. Also, more than 100 successful deliveries have taken place in this hospital. OPD is open Monday to Saturday and emergency services are available 24 hours. Free ambulance service is provided to the people of the villages for check-up and delivery to pregnant women of the villages under Gram Panchayat Purusalgondi, Nagulwadi and Todsa.

Treatment and food supply in the clinic under the Malnutrition Free Child Program to the malnourished children and girls is given. Free treatment and guidance for the people for sickle cell, anaemia, malaria, and typhoid. Providing immediate treatment and information through first aid boxes in all the villages. A total of 2216 girls and women in the village have been distributed free sanitary pads under the Sakhi-Saheli program.

The doctors, nursing staff, and all the employees who provided free services in this hospital for a full year were felicitated on the occasion. The Sarpanch, Dy. Sasarpanch and Village Patil of all three Gram Panchayats were also welcomed with shawls and coconuts.

Sarpanch of Pursalgondi, Rajubhau Timma Upsarpanch, Nagulwadi, Vanitatai Korami, Sarpanch of Todsa, Sai Kumar, Bholubhau Somani, Sanjay Changlani, Dr. Sunny Saluja, Vedant Joshi, TA Baskar, Ram Kumar, Arun Rawat, Sunita Mehta, Vikram Mehta, Dulhat Saheb, PSI Hedri, Dr. Mr. Gopal Roy, Dr. Chetan Buriwar, Dr. Preeti Buriwar, Mr. Katia Telami, Lalsai Talande and many others were present on the occasion.

This program was successfully organized in the presence of distinguished citizens, Lloyds officials and the public of the area.
