Gadchiroli Nov. 15 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli police seized two vehicles full of liquor belonging to a liquor seller in Gokulnagar of Gadchiroli on Tuesday. Along with the vehicles, the police seized a total of 12 lakhs worth of liquor and other goods.

Seeing the possibility that illegal liquor will be smuggled to Gadchiroli district from neighboring Chandrapur and Gondia districts by hidden ways to influence the voting process in the ongoing assembly elections, the police were keeping an eye on the illicit liquor sellers.

While the local crime branch team was patrolling, on November 12, it was reported that Akash Bharadkar, a liquor seller in Gokulnagar area of ​​Gadchiroli, with the help of his accomplice Roshan Lokhande, was bringing country and foreign liquor from Bramhapuri (Chandrapur district) and supplying it to Manoj Mujumdar and Krishna Mujumdar. Based on this information, a police team laid a trap in the area of ​​Poreddiwar Engineering College, Bodli on Dhanora road, stopped two vehicles and searched them. As many as 130 boxes of country liquor were found in them.

Akash Bhaurao Bharadkar of Gokulnagar, Roshan Haridas Lokhande from Umred were arrested and a case was registered against liquor seller Manoj Mujumdar of Etapalli and Krishna Mujumdar of Kasansur.

Under the leadership of Police Inspector Ulhas Bhusari, API Rahul Awhad, and other staff Prashant Garphade, Namdev Bhatarkar, Deepak Lotane took this action.
