Gadchiroli Oct. 21 (District Correspondent) The people involved in illicit liquor sale will have to be deprived of the government schemes, according to a decision taken by the concerned villages under Kulkuli Gram Panchayat in Armori taluka.
A decision to ban the sale of illegal liquor was taken in a meeting held at Kulkuli Gram Panchayat office in Armori taluka recently. Liquor sellers in Kulkuli, Navragaon Makta, Navragaon, Ramtola, Pujari Tola, Chudiyal who come under the plan will have to be deprived of government schemes including ration, if they violate the decision.
Around 35 liquor sellers are active in six villages of Kulkuli, Navargaon Makta, Navargaon, Ramtola, Pujari Tola, Chudiyal under Gram Panchayat area Kulkuli. Due to this, the women, students and citizens of the respective villages have to face many difficulties. Efforts are being made by the Muktipatha Taluka team to ban the sale of illegal liquor in these villages.
Similarly, in a joint meeting of village level committee of Kulkuli, Mahatma Gandhi Tantamukti Samiti, Muktipath village association was held at the village panchayat office in Kulkuli. It was decided to stop the sale of liquor. Muktipath taluka organizer Vinod Kohpare explained the liquor ban law, how to ban liquor, benefits of liquor ban, health information, addiction treatment camp, assembly election challenge, voter’s manifesto to all political parties and candidates for liquor free election.
All the members resolved that they will not drink alcohol and a fine of Rs 15,000 will be imposed on anyone who sells alcohol within the respective village limits, a reward of Rs 2,000 will be given to those who sieze the alcohol. A unanimous decision was taken that if the alcohol sellers do not stop the illegal business within seven days despite giving a notice, government documents under the Gram Panchayat, grain from the fair price shops will be confiscated.
Tantamukti Committee President Ratan Kumre, Village Level Committee President and Sarpanch Vilas Bawne, S.B. Sahare, Gramsevak Kulkuli, Sridas Gedam, Police Patil, Savita Kowe, Police Patil of Navragaon, Vinayak Uike, Police Patil of Ramtola, Village Association members Lata Gedam, Yamina Gedam, Samiksha Dane, Anita Gedam, Yogaji Kokode, Arvind Kowe, Kavita Dhakde attended the meeting. The villagers including Ratnakar Pendam, Indrajit Madavi, Sandeep Varkhade, Mukunda UIK, Prashant Nakade, Harshraj Bhanarkar, Bhajan Madavi, Akshay Gedam, Nirmala Gedam, Kunda Gedam, Pournima Maraskolhe were also present.
