Gadchiroli Oct. 3 (District Correspondent) Today women are advancing in every field and women in rural areas are no longer left behind. Women’s self-help groups are important medium for women’s economic development. Savings groups have provided employment opportunities to women in the village itself, said Raje Ambrishrao Atram.
He was speaking at the meeting of women members of self-help groups at Aheri recently.
Village Pusukpalli under Nagepalli Gram Panchayat in Aheri Taluka has 15 Mahila Savings Groups, there are more than 150 women in it. But as there is no Gram Sangh Bhavan for women, they are facing many difficulties. Considering this problem, Mr. Atram assured the women to make necessary efforts for getting the funds sanctioned by the government for construction of Gram Sangh Bhavan.
On this occasion, Mr. Atram accepted the memoandum of the Women’s Savings Group and assured that in the next few months, he will provide funds to the Women’s Savings Groups for the construction of a well-equipped Gram Sangh Bhavan at Pusukpalli and give all possible support.
On this occasion social workers from Pusukpalli Pramod Bhoyar, women’s savings group president Sapnatai Portet, secretary Roshni Atkurwar, treasurer Rajeshwari Portet, Gram Panchayat members Shevanta Bhoyar, Sona Ragundi, Jijabai Katrelwar, Lalita Chaudhari, Savita Raut, Yashoda Kudmethe and a large number of women were present.
