Gadchiroli Sept. 19 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli MLA Dr. Devrao Holi has alleged that a campaign of fake signatures is going on with the dual purpose of preventing him from getting a BJP ticket and getting someone else a ticket for the coming Assembly elections.
Addressing a press conference at the Press club here on Tursday Dr. Holi who has been representing Gadchiroli Assembly Constituency for two terms and is preparing for the third term has warned that if tickets are distributed in this manner, then the consequences will have to be faced like in the Lok Sabha reminding that the similar campaign was carried on by his opponents during that election too.
Dr. Holi said, signatures of the BJP workers are being obtained by the opponents on the pretext of some other works and they are being used against him. This is not fair. The party high command will take an appropriate decision regarding the Assembly elections and that will be acceptable to me. But misleading the workers and the party higher ups is not good.
Dr. Holi appealed that people should be careful and oppose anyone who comes for signature. Before the Lok Sabha elections, some members of the party in the district cheated their own party by conducting a campaign of fake signatures. Its result was seen in the Lok Sabha elections. Dr. Holi alleged that office bearers with original anti-BJP mentality have prepared the same strategy before the assembly elections.
Dr. Holi further cautioned that lobbying in this manner will show results like Lok Sabha. With this the internal dispute in BJP has now come to the fore. BJP district general secretary Pramod Pipre, state member Ravindra Ollalwar and others attended the press conference.
