Gadchiroli Aug. 30 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli District Congress Committee staged demonstrations agitation at Indira Gandhi Square here today for raising various problems of the district under the leadership of District President Mahendra Brahmanwade and MP Dr. Namdev Kirsan.
As the national and state highways in Gadchiroli district are in bad condition, the citizens are suffering a lot and many innocent citizens are losing their lives, hence these roads should be repaired soon, it was demanded.
The other demands were repair of Gadchiroli-Armori, Ashti-Aheri-Sironcha National Highway and Chamorshi-Mul State Highway. Due to the heavy traffic from Surajgad, the road is completely blocked and the number of accidents is increasing day by day, an effective solution should be planned. Although Gadchiroli is a very remote and backward district, the state government has given only 10% funds for road development as compared to other districts, so, additional funds should be granted for road development.
Many gharkul holders in the district have not received their payments hence it should be deposited in the account of the beneficiaries, effective measures should be taken for the wild elephants roaming in the district. Due to railway work, the agricultural land of many farmers is being damaged, such farmers be given immediate compensation, the farmers of Konsari area be given proper compensation for land acquisition. The health system in the district is in complete disrepair and should be improved, regular electricity supply be given to agricultural pumps, as many farmers are losing their crops, the ongoing load shedding in the district should be stopped, Additional buses should be made available in the district as the citizens and school students are suffering due to lack of adequate buses were the other demands.
