Students tying rakhis to the jail inmates.

Gadchiroli Aug. 21 (District Correspondent) The students of Carmel High School here celebrated the ‘Raksha Bandhan’ programme in a different way by tying rakhis to the inmates of the District Prison here.

The students had made these rakhis themselves and tied them on the wrists of the jail inmates thereby exchanging the bond of love and social commitment. The students also presented a street play and poems for the entertainment of the inmates on this occasion.

Fr. Sinoj Sabestian, Principal of the school, Sr. Nancy Tom, Vice Principal, Mr. Sonwane, superintendent of the District Jail were prominently present on the occasion.

Ms. Mahi Kottawar, Ekta Meshram, Sujay Kohle, Madhuja Waghre and other students of the social work department of the school took pains for the success of the programme.
