Gadchiroli Jan. 5 (District Correspondent) District-level Chacha Nehru Children’s Festival and Sports Competition was organized at Bal Sadan, Ghot in Chamorshi taluka recently by District Women and Child Development Department.
The festival was organized with an objective to inculcate brotherhood and team spirit among the children towards each other and spread art and latent qualities among them.
A three-day program was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. R. R. Patil, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Gadchiroli. Mr. Arun Fegde, PSO, Gadchiroli, Ms. Rupali Dudhbavre, Sarpanch Ghot, Ms. Varsha Manwar, President of Child Welfare Committee, Mr. Prakash Bhandakkar, District Women and Child Development Officer, Shainy Garvasis President of Lokmangal Sanstha Ghot, Ms. Marilyn Parekalan, Secretary, Vinod Patil District Probation Officer, Avinash Gurnule, District Child Protection Officer, Vilas Dhore, Probation Officer, Vijay Patil were prominently present.
As many as 164 students from different schools participated in the festival.
Various activities like Painting, General Knowledge Competition, Solo Dance, Group Dance etc were organized during the festival. The program was conducted by Mr. Jayant Jathade, Mr. Vinod Patil gave vote of thanks.
The concluding program was presided over by Ms. Varsha Manwar, President Bal Kalyan Samiti. Mr. Rajan Gajbhiye, Principal of Navodaya Vidyalaya Ghot, Kashinath Devgade, Member Bal Kalyan Samiti and Shainy Garvasis, President of Lokmangal Sanstha Ghot were the chief guests. Prizes were distributed to the winners at the hands of the guests.
Mr. Avinash Gurnule District Child Protection Officer, Rupali Kale, Senior Protection Officer, Sarika Vanjari, Legal Adviser, Manoj Nagose, Principal, Mahatma Gandhi High School Ghot, Nirmala Topo, Principal Swadhargriha, Lalita Kujur, Principal, Balgriha, Meena Rabbewar, Mahesh Rundiye and others took pains for this meet.
The program was introduced by Mr. Vinod Patil, moderated by Priyanka Asutkar and Jayant Jathade and vote of thanks was proposed by Kavishwar Lengure.
