Gadchiroli Jan. 4 (District correspondent) A grand Nagar Kirtan (procession) was organized by the local Gurdwara Singh Sabha on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru at Wadsa Desaiganj the other day. The procession was started from Sai Vasanshah Darbar Sindhi Colony under the leadership of Panjpyare of Ardas Kadru Sikh community.

Guru Granth Sahib was taken out in vehicles attractively decorated with flowers. The Kulwinder Singh Gatka team from Nagpur surprised everyone by displaying traditional chivalry games, sword fighting and other feats. Bravery games such as blindfolded coconut cracking, sword fighting, jumping through a ring of fire etc. were also performed during the procession.

Sikh-Sindhi and Sigalkar community members marched through the city in a disciplined manner, accompanied by devotional kirtan by Hamchakar Gobind K Simran Jattha from Gondia. While passing through the main market of the city, many devotees welcomed the procession and welcomed it by offering prayers in their respective establishments.

The entire atmosphere was filled with devotion the slogans like ‘Vahe Satnam Guru’, ‘Bole so Nihal- Sat shri Akal’, etc. which were chanted during the procession that was attended by a large number of people.

Armori MLA Krishna Gajbe and many local office bearers visited the Shobhayatra and extended their best wishes to the Sikh and Sindhi brothers on Guru Gobindsingh Jayanti.

The police and local citizens took care of the arrangements. The shobhayatra concluded at Gurdwara Singh Sabha on Brahmapuri Road. After that ‘Langar’ (mahaprasada) was arranged for all the devotees.

Dr. Lal Singh Khalsa, Anand Singh Chawla, Prof. Amarjitsingh Chawla, Indrapal Singh Khalsa, Harish Thakre, Prince Arora, Gurmeetsingh Tooteja, Pritpalsingh Tooteja, Harwindersingh Tooteja, Goldie Tuteja, Dimple Chawla, Ravindersingh Saluja, Granthi Saheb Gurmeetsingh Arora and many others contributed for the success of the Shobhayatra.
