Gadchiroli Dec. 13 (District correspondent) Annual Sports meet was organized at Platinum Jubilee School and Junior College here with joy and enthusiasm recently.
The program was started by the chief guests Mr. Aziz Nathani, Secretary General of the Institute and Principal Anaita Charles. The balloons were released in the sky with the lighting of the torch to mark the beginning of the meet. After that, the swearing-in ceremony took place. The day of the event began with a drill performance.
The little twinkling stars performed pom-pom and dupatta drills and their rhythmic movements enchanted everyone. There were some more drill performances for the students of class I to VIII. Various field games and competitions were conducted in which students presented themselves.
Students played cricket, basketball, kho- kho, kabaddi, 50m and 100m races and many other sports. It was an inter-school sports day, where the students displayed their team spirit.
Games have become an integral part of education nowadays. Which instils discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit, emotions and leadership skills and also develop physically and mentally, said Mr. Aziz Nathani while guiding the students.
Principal Anaita Charles while addressing the students emphasized the need for participation. She said that winning is not important. Participation makes all the difference.
At the end of the meet, Mr. Aziz Nathani, Joint Secretary Mr. Karim Lakhani, Director Amir Ali Nathani, Mr. Shaukat Dhammani, Ms. Azima Hooda gave medals and certificates to the winners.
The program was successfully conducted by the administrative officer of the school Mr. Raja Naidu as well as all the teachers, non-teachers gave their valuable contribution.
