Gadchiroli Nov. 20 (District Correspondent) A new police station was inaugurated at Wangeturi under sub-division Hedri, the Maoist-sensitive place in the district today at the hands of Deputy Inspector General of Police Sandeep Patil, Superintendent of Police Mr. Neelotpal.
Central Reserve Police Force 191 Battalion Commandant Mr. Satya Prakash Additional Superintendent of Police (Campaign) Anuj Tare, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Kumar Chinta, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Hedri Bapurao Dadas and newly appointed Officer-in-Charge of Wangeturi Police Station Mahesh Vidhate were prominently present.
A large contingent of Gadchiroli Police Force was deployed to construct the said police station. With the help of a total of 1500 manpower, 10 JCBs, 10 trailers, 4 Poklens, 45 trucks etc., the post was set up in just one day.
WiFi facility, 20 porta cabins, generator shed, RO plant for drinking water, mobile tower, toilet facility, mac wall for post security etc. were constructed in the police station. Along with this, 4 officers and 63 enforcers of Gadchiroli police force, 1 officer and 42 enforcers of SRPF and 1 assistant commandant of 191 battalion of CRPF and 1 G company and 1 young platoon with 1 officer have been deployed for the post security.
Also, program, many utility material including salwar suit, sarees for women, dhoti, lower pants, footwears, blankets, bed sheets, t-shirt for men, bicycles, notebook, frock, compass boxes, chocolates, biscuits for boys, cricket bats, balls, volleyball nets, volleyballs etc. were distributed among the citizens present in the programme. The residents of the remote area have expressed satisfaction over the construction of a new police station.
As the Wangeturi Police Station was established today, the District Magistrate has imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the next 15 days in Wangeturi, Hedri, Gatta Zambia and the entire Etapalli taluka to maintain law and order situation in that area.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Neelotpal said that villagers should not be swayed by false narrative of Maoists and fall prey to their designs. The new police station will play an important role in overall development of this area, he said.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Sandeep Patil said that Gadchiroli Police Force has always been striving for the development of Gadchiroli. As a result of that, the new police station has been established today. However, Gadchiroli Police Force will always be ready to help the people of Gadchiroli.
