Gadchiroli Jan. 21 (District Correspondent) Well known tribal activist and Founder President of Veer Baburao Adiwasi Vikas Prabodhan Samiti Vasant Kulsange has decided to launch indefinite hunger strike in front of the Gondwana University from Jan. 26 next to press the demand of cancelling the University senate resolution to name the University Hall after RSS leader Dattaji Didolkar.
Mr. Kulsange has intimated about this decision to the University administration through a letter today.
Mr. Kulsange is known as a devoted senior tribal activist and has been quite active in propagating Veer Baburao Shedmake’s contribution in the freedom struggle of the country for the last so many years.
Mr. Kulsange has said in a letter submitted to the University that the Gondwana University has been formed for providing higher education to the students and overall development of this tribal dominated district of Gadchiroli. However, the University senate ignored the tribal revolutionaries, senior leaders of the district and has passed a resolution to name the hall after Dattaji Didolkar.
This is a great insult of the people of the district. This resolution should be scrapped immediately and the hall should be named after martyr Veer Baburao Shedmake. For raising this demand, I am sitting on an indefinite hunger strike from Jan. 26 next, Kulsange has stated.
Mr. Kulsange has sent the copies of the letter to the Governor, Chief Minister, Minister for higher and Technical Education, District Collector, SP and the Police Station Incharge of Gadchiroli.
