Gadchiroli June 15 (District Correspondent) In a joint operation conducted by District Child Protection Cell, District Police Force and Childline on the occasion of the International Day Against Child Labour, on the initiative of Sparsh Sanstha, as many as 21 child labourers were rescued. Most of these children are minors and some children are from other states.

Sparsh Sanstha is celebrating the month of June this year as the month of action against child labour. Under this drive, raids and rescue operations will be conducted to get rid of child labour and slavery.

The drive was launched is Assistant Collector Omkar Pawar. Resident Dy. Collector Samadhan Shendge, District Women and Child Development Officer Prakash Bhandakkar, Child Welfare Committee Chairman Varsha Manwar, Member Dinesh Borkute, District Child Protection Officer Avinash Gurnule, Childline’s Avinash Raut were prominently present.

On this occasion, President of Sparsh Sanstha Dr. Dilip Barsagde said, “Today for eradicating child labor in our country there are many effective policies and strict laws, but until people are aware about it, this practice can’t be stopped. This is a great challenge before the society. We all should work together to make India free of child labour and to make every child to be healthy with the help of Kailash Satyarthi Children Foundation, he stated.
