Gadchiroli Dec. 7 (District Correspondent) District Water and Sanitation Department, Zilla Parishad Gadchiroli had organized a workshop of the Sarpanchas, Block Development Officers, Extension Officers on ‘Swach Jal Se Suraksha” and prize distribution of Swachh Survekshan, Sant Gadgebaba Village Cleanliness Campaign at Sumanand Hall here on Monday.
The workshop was inaugurated by MLA Dr. Devrao Holi, MLA Krishnaji Gajbe and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Kumar Ashirwad were prominently present.
Additional CEO Rajendra Bhuyar, Project Director Jal Jeevan Mission Farendra Kutirkar, Deputy CEO Samam Shekhar Shelar, Dy CEO Gram Panchayat Ravi Kanse, Executive Engineer Rural Water Supply Amit Turkar were present as guides.
Speaking on the occasion CEO Ashirwad gave instructions to complete the targets of personal toilets, public toilets and solid waste management under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) in the year 2022-23. He also instructed to complete the works under “Swach Jal Se Suraksha” campaign, geo-tagging of all existing sources of tap water supply schemes in the district, water quality monitoring, training on ‘har ghar jal’ application.
Mr. Ashirwad also asked the officials to take up quality monitoring of drinking water sources after monsoon, collection of water samples through water protectors, chemical analysis of water samples. Biological testing, updating of information on WQMIS website and availability of FTK kits, training of water guards and 5 selected women from each village.
Mr. Kutikar gave details of the waste water solid waste management and plastic waste management, fecal slug as well as sanitation of each village under Swachh Bharat Mission Phase-2 and sewage management in the village and Jal Jeevan Mission program. The objective is to provide 55 litres of clean drinking water per capita, he added.
The said objectives have also been fulfilled through various functions from the government level as well as district and taluka levels. However, with the passage of time, there may be some irregularities in the village and a decrease in the quality of tap water supply hence we should be alert, Kuttirkar said.
Amit Turkar, Executive Engineer, Rural Water Supply, guided about the tap water supply scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission. On this occasion, nearly 1200 officials and employees participated and helped to make the program a success.
Sarpanchas, Block Development Officers, Section Engineers of Rural Water Supply, Extension Officers of Panchayat Samitis, Secretaries of Gram Panchayats, Rural Home Engineers, Implementation Agency officials were mainly present on this occasion.
Farendra Kutirkar, Project Director Jal Jeevan Mission gave the introduction of the program. The program was moderated by Amit Guymare and vote of thanks was given by Dheeraj Patil.
Ramesh Navghare, Nadia Sheikh, Shailesh Dhawas, Prashish Kondbattunwar, Praful Madavi, Amit Punde, Lalit Bisen, Ravindra Buram, Kewalram Karkade of District Water and Sanitation Unit cooperated for the success of the program
