Gadchiroli Dec. 1 (District Correspondent) ‘In the next 50 years, the whole world will absorb the thoughts of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Similarly, all the countries of the world will also follow the Indian Constitution. We should adopt the basic principles mentioned in the constitution’.

This was stated by the Vice Chancellor of Gondwana University Dr. Prashant Bokare while speaking from the chair during a one-day seminar on ‘Constitution- Women’s Rights and Present’ at the University auditorium here on Wednesday.

Adv. Anjali Salve Witankar, former President, Zilla Parishad and Senate member Bhagyashreetai Atram, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Shri Ram Kawle, Registrar Anil Hirekhan, well-known columnist and social activist Madhuri Sakulkar, constitutional scholar Prof. Devidas Ghodeswar  were prominently present.

Speaking on ‘Women’s Rights in the Constitution: Present Reality’, Advocate Anjali Salve Witankar said, when a woman learns, the whole family learns. Women are making their mark in every field due to their entrepreneurial qualities but still the question of whether women are safe outside and at home is still unanswered. When we think about the political sphere, everyone’s story is also different. It is very important for women to support women in today’s times and every woman should be able to find her own existence.

She also expressed her views on Beti Bachha – Beti Padhao campaign, social position of women and the current situation, violence against women, rape etc.

On this occasion, former Zilla Parishad President Bhagyashree  Atram said, just as human beings need oxygen to live, they also need this constitution. Due to the constitution, we can work in various fields.

Prashant Punwatkar won the hearts of the audience by presenting the Constitution song. Introductory speech was delivered by Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan. Dr. Savita Govindwar conducted the proceedings and vote of thans was proposed by Prof. Shubham Butle.
