Gadchiroli July 22 (District Correspondent) Facing various economic and other difficulties, the late Mr. Wamanraoji Wanmali established Mahatma Gandhi Mahavidyalaya at Armori in 1954 with the inspiration of social welfare from Rashtrasant Tukdoj Maharaj and Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. This institution, built with great effort and hard work, has now grown into a banyan tree today. Many students, social activists, sportspersons were created from this institute. Apart from education, Wamanraoji also did social service and politics. Since he did this work very honestly and passionately, the government honoured him with the Dalit Mitra Award. His work was carried forward by his son Kishorbhau Wanmali also with the same spirit.

This was stated by Mr. Manojbhau Wanmali, Secretary of Manoharbhai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Armori assuring that he will also take forward the work with the full dedication and zeal.

He was speaking at Late Vamanraoji Vanmali’s birth anniversary that was celebrated in Mahatma Gandhi College Auditorium as ‘Prerna Din’ by all the faculties run by Manoharbhai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Armori the other day.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Mane, Former Panchayat Samiti chairman, Ashok Verma Multi-Purpose Social and Literary Development Institute Warora, Vice President Noorallibhai Panjwani, Namdevrao Sorte, Deepakbhau Wanmali, Sangitatai Wanmali, Harishchandra Bondre, Principal Dr. Lal Singh Khalsa, Sainath Addalwar were prominently present.

Mr. Ashok Verma praised the work of Mr. Wamanrao Wanmali and said not only in Gadchiroli district but also in Chandrapur district also, the evidence of his sincere and selfless work is seen. He expressed the hope that the same fragrance of service will reach us from his successor.

In his introductory speech, Prin. Dr. Lal Singh Khalsa said that whoever joins the institution stays forever. The inspiration and values ​​of service sowed by our former founders are what we continue to cherish even today. Today, many grandmothers, ex-students and successful students who have taken knowledge from here meet us and express their gratitude towards the institution, that fills our heart with pride. We run this organization not only as a means of livelihood but also as a centre of culture. That is why the college has got this A category today, he told.

On this occasion, the students who stood first and second respectively in all the faculties of the institute were honoured with bouquets and certificates by the office bearers of the institute.

The program was moderated by Mr. Gondane and the vote of thanks was given by Sainath Addalwar. Officials of the institute, teachers and non-teaching staff of various faculties were present in the program.
