Gadchiroli Feb. 23 (District Correspondent) A ten day “Upasika Dhamma Training Camp” was organized at Panchsheel Buddha Vihara here by the district branch of Bhartiya bouddha Mahasabha recently. As many as 49 women participated in this camp and learned about various topics related to Dhamma.
The concluding programme of the camp was presided over by Central Teacher Surekha Barsagade. Senior Central Teacher Dharmaji Bambole, District President Tularam Raut, General Secretary Prof. Gautam Dange, City President Balkrishna Bambole, Taluka President Machhindranath Vankar, Panchsheel Samaj Mandal President Sukhdev Wasnik, Madhukar Lotane, Lahu Ramteke, Ms. Sumitra Raut, Jyoti Urade were prominently present.
Ms. Sushila Wankhede, central teacher from Nagpur, explained the meaning of Trisharan, Panchsheela and spoke extensively on the biography of Gautama Buddha and Babasaheb Ambedkar, Ideal Woman’s Life in Buddhism, Eight fold Path, Sacrifice of Mata Ramai, Buddhist Festivals and sacred days, Buddhist Holy Places, 10 Paramitas, Importance and Necessity of 22 Dhamma Pledges, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s sermons to women etc.
Sushila Wankhede was felicitated by the participating women.
District President Tularam Raut, Senior Central Teacher Dharmaji Bambole also provided guidance. Budding poetess Pratibha Bharat Dhote was felicitated with a bouquet for the recently published poem “May Mauli Ramai” from the biographical book “Tyagamurti Ramabai Bhimrao Ambedkar” written by Mogal Jadhav from Pune.
From this training camp we got a lot of information about Dhamma, we will adopt Dhamma in our family life, our knowledge about Dhamma has increased, said the trainee women while expressing their feelings on the occasion and hoped that such camp should be held always. They promised to follow the teachings of Dhamma in day-to-day life.
The program was conducted by Ms. Poornima Durge. Swarnamala Meshram thanked the attendees. Ms. Leena Dholne, Ratnamala Ingle, Surekha Barde, Rekha Akewar, Sushila Khobragade, Dharabai Meshram, Suman Karade, Punam Barsagade and other women worked hard to make this training camp a success.
