Gadchiroli june 7 (District Correspondent) Two persons were killed and two others injured due to lightening in Kunghada and Talodhi (Mokasa) areas of the district on Thursday.
Gurudas Maniram Gedam (42) a resident of Govardhan (Kunghada) and Vaibhav Choudhary (21), a resident of village Shankarpur Heti are the names of the deceased. While Gurudas died on the spot, Vaibhav died in the hospital during treatment.
Both Gurudas and Vaibhav were engaged in fishing occupation and were returning their home after repairing their boat in a nearby river. As they were on their way, a sudden lightening fell o them.
Gadchiroli district has received pre-monsoon rains with severe winds. In the Kunghada and Talodhi Mokasa areas of Chamoshi taluka was strucked by the sudden winds accompanied by heavy rains and lightning.
Neelkanth Tarkadu Bhoyer (45) resident of Talodhi and Lekaji Naitam (40), resident of Maroda have injured in the lightning. They have been admitted in the Rural Hospital of Chamorshi and their health is stated to be stable.
Due to sudden cyclone in Kunghada, Talodhi (Mokasa) area, houses have been damaged to a large extent. The tin sheets on the rice mill and many houses have been blown off. The life in the area was disrupted for some time due to water entering some houses
