Gadchiroli Sept. 6 (District Correspondent) “Teacher’s Day” was celebrated with much zeal and enthusiasm at Samidha College of Civil Services here on Tuesday to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

President of the Institute Mr. Kalidasji Raut presided over the function while well known motivational speaker Mr. Deo, Prof. Nitin Naitam, Prof. Ms. Khobragade, Ms. Pragya Nimgade, Mr. Sushant Raut, Madhukar Rohankar were prominently present.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the students performed the role of teachers and conducted teaching in the classrooms thereby showing their skill. Ms. Sharwari Ranadive held the post of Principal while Ms. China Bhoyar, Taxashila Khobragade, Sharda Kosre, Soundarya Jengathe, Akshani Marbate, Lakshmi Chalakh, Khameshwar Gurunule and Sahil Samarth participated in the teaching role.

The first three students who achieved success in the first year were felicitated on the occasion by presenting them attractive prizes. First prize was bagged by Ms. Akshani Marbhate, second prize went to Ms. Ragini Lengure, while third prize was won by Ms. Janhvi Bhopaye.

Speaking from the position of the President of the program, Mr. Kalidas Raut said that a teacher is an artist who shapes the lives of students and develop their personality. The teachers have a major role in creating the students and making them good and responsible citizens, he added. He called upon the students to honour the teachers throughout their life.

The other guests also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of teachers urging the students to take inspiration from the teachers and develop the career in different fields of life.

Prof. Tilesh Mohurle made an introductory speech and gave the details of the programme. Ms. Suhani Ramteke conducted the programme and Ms. Lakshmi Chalakh proposed the vote of thanks. The program started with a melodious welcome song sung by the students and concluded by presenting gifts to the faculty by the students of the college.

A large number of students, teachers and staff members of the college attended the programme.
