Gadchiroli Oct. 30 (District Correspondent) A review meeting regarding the schemes taken up under Human Development programme was held at Collector’s Office here on Friday under the chairmanship of Mr. Nitin Patil Commissioner, Human Development Programme, Aurangabad.
Mr. Sanjay Meena, Collector and Chairman, District Human Development Committee, Gadchiroli and Kumar Ashirwad, Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad was present.
District Planning Officer Arvind Tembhurne welcomed the department heads. Mr. Patil took a detailed review of various schemes including health, education and employment generation which are the basis for increasing human development index.
It was explained that it is necessary to reach the benefits of the scheme to the needy and poor families. The schemes like distribution of bicycles to the students studying from 8th to 12th standard, free home to school bus service for girl students studying up to 12th, health 2 camps per month at concerned primary health centre level and 1 camp per month at rural hospital level were discussed in the meeting. conducting camps will be beneficial to pregnant mothers belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Tribes and BPL beneficiaries, it was told.
The commissioner directed the officials to give maximum benefit of these schemes to the needy beneficiaries in the district. Employment generation schemes like goat rearing, poultry, cattle rearing and dairy farming should be taken up in the district, he said.
Since there is a lot of scope, instructions were given regarding the submission of proposals of Mavim and Umed’s self-help groups in this regard. Also, the issues like grain storage, tendu leaves collection, bamboo collection, construction of godowns for mahua collection etc were suggested. Considering the demand from Gram Sabha as well as various executive bodies under Tribal Development Corporation. Instructions were given to the concerned agencies in this regard.
The Collector informed that a large number of youths will be trained in the skills related to driving technology considering their requirement in the Surjagad project. Also, he instructed to prepare construction proposals for Godowns under MGNREGA.
Chief Executive Officer informed about the construction of Anganwadi, taking proper care of the malnourished children. He demanded locally available food for the Anganwadi children and check-up kits for pregnant and lactating mothers.
