Gadchiroli Oct. 10 (District Correspondent) SBC Anyay Niwaran Kruti Samiti has demanded that the pending issues of SBC in Maharashtra should be sorted out as soon as possible and the SBC communities be given relief.

A memorandum of the demands was submitted by the office bearers of the Samiti to the District Collector recently.

There are more than 50 lakh weavers and their dependent professionals in the state. Active office bearers of the organization work in 20 districts along with common people. The organization has submitted such memorandums from time to time and agitations were also made to raise the problems. This time also, memorandums were submitted simultaneously in 20 districts in the state. The government should recognize the sentiments and consider the demands and fulfil them, it was demanded.

The main demands included -an economic development corporation should be established for weavers, separate 2% reservation should be given for SBCs, the issue of reservation should be resolved without disturbing the OBC reservation, caste wise census should be conducted soon, GR regarding contractual recruitment should be withdrawn immediately etc. A warning was given that there will be a strong agitation in all the districts.

General Secretary of SBC Anyay Niwaran Kruti Samiti Suresh Padmashali, Secretary of Padmashali Samaj Gadchiroli Ravindra Kudkawar, Keshavrao Gumphawar, Sainath Dumpatiwar were present in the delegation.
