Gadchiroli Dec. 29 (District Correspondent) ‘Say no to alcohol on December 31st, stay away from the first sip’. This is the appeal made to all the youth by the Muktipath Abhiyan which has been working for alcohol and tobacco control in Gadchiroli district.
The dawn of the New Year is on the threshold. Welcome the New Year with joy, start the New Year with a new resolution, said the appeal further.
The perverse case of the youth, on whose shoulders the future of the country rests, starting the New Year unconsciously under the influence of alcohol is seen in many places. Many youths take their first sip of alcohol on the occasion of December 31st. Many adults also join in this. But alcohol, taken as a little fun, gradually takes control of the entire body. This is what gives rise to incidents of violence, atrocities, accidents that seem universal at present. To avoid all these types, it is necessary for the youth and everyone else to stay away from the first sip of alcohol, Muktipath has said.
The biggest misconception that drinking alcohol gives happiness, is prevalent among today’s young generation. Then the young generation turns to alcohol to get happiness. They also see their favourite film stars drinking alcohol in movies. But today, the first glass that gives happiness brings a wave of sadness. Because the first glass of alcohol is addictive and once addicted, a person does not drink alcohol, but alcohol drinks a person. And the occasion for this is December 31st. Therefore, say no to the first drop of alcohol, said the Muktipath appealing the people to welcome the New Year with purity.
The perverted culture of starting the New Year by getting drunk has started in the last few years. But there is no wisdom in welcoming the New Year unconsciously while drunk. Therefore, Muktipath has appealed to everyone, including the youth, to welcome the New Year with purity.
