Gadchiroli Sept. 3 (District Correspondent) A Sarpancha of village Vikrampur in Chamorshi taluka one Shrikant Ollalwar (46) was caught red handed by the Anti-corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs. 9,000 from a villager.
According to reports, a man from the village had approached the Sarpancha for Gharkul scheme benefit. The Sarpancha demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the man for getting the benefit of Gharkul. The matter was then finalized in Rs. 9,000.
On receiving the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the Sarpancha red handed while accepting the bribe money at his Chamorshi residence.
An offence under section 7 of Anti- Corruption Act has been registered against Ollalwar and further investigations are in progress. Police Inspector Shivaji Rathod, Shridhar Bhosle and other staff of the ACB conducted this raid.
