Gadchiroli July 31 (District Correspondent) The Annual General Meeting and Guidance Camp of Samyak Senior Citizens Association was held recently in the auditorium of Samyak Buddha Vihara here.
District Legal Services Authority Secretary Justice R. R. Patil, District Health Officer Dr. Daval Salve, social activist Rohidas Raut, Dentist Dr. Ankita Dhakde were the chief guest. Kavaduji Undirwade, president of the Association, presided over the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Patil said that senior citizen is a very important element of the society. To protect the interests of senior citizens, many facilities are provided through the Legal Services Authority, he informed and appealed to all the senior citizens to take advantage of these facilities.
Dr. Daval Salve gave information about the health facilities for senior citizens through the health department and said that these facilities are available in all government hospitals. He appealed to take advantage of it during illness. He also said that three new health centres will be started soon in Gadchiroli city. He announced that a health camp would soon be organized for senior citizens.
Dr. Ankita Dhakade gave detailed information about dental disease and urged senior citizens to take proper care of their teeth according to their age. Other distinguished guests also guided on this occasion. In the presidential speech, Kawade Undirwade informed about the work of the organization and assured that his organization will continue to work for the welfare of senior citizens.
On this occasion, Shriram Raut, an elderly member of the organization, was felicitated by giving a shawl and a bouquet. In the meeting, many members also expressed their views and said that this organization is working well.
The program was introduced by Sampat Godbole, Prahlad Sahare, conducted the programme, report was read by Hansraj Undirwade and vote of thanks was given by Gokuldas Govardhan. Durvas Tembhurne, Motiram Kotangale, Purushottam Khewle, Ramchandra Jambhulkar worked hard to make the program successful. The program was attended by a large number of members of the organization.
