Gadchiroli Feb. 2 (District Correspondent) Raje Ambrishrao Atram, former District Guardian Minister visited the Samakka- Sarakka fair at Medaram which is known as the largest fair in Asia, along with hundreds of workers and took the darshan of Samakka, Sarakka Mata.

Every two years, lakhs of devotees gather at Medaram in the state of Telangana to have the darshan of Samakka- Sarakka Mata. Mr. Ambrishrao Atram along with Rajmata Rani Rukminidevi, brother Avadheshrao Atram and hundreds of workers visited the fair.

Raje Ambrishrao was accorded grand by the local devotees and followers and was taken to the temple in a huge procession amidst the beating of drums and slogans.

A temple of Samakka- Sarakka Mata is situated at village Medaram in Tadwai taluka of Mulugu district of Telangana state. A big fair is held here every two years there. Devotees from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and other states throng this place for darshan in large numbers.

A special puja is performed for one week in the month of February. However, seeing the crowd of devotees in this fair, which goes on for almost a month, the administration makes all the necessary arrangements for the devotees. From the point of view of security and for the comfort of the devotees. This year also, the Telangana administration has made elaborate arrangement for the fair.

Raje Ambrishrao Atram, along with his family, took darshan of Samakka-Sarakka Mata and prayed for the happiness, peace and good health to all the people of the district.
