Police Force’s ‘Gadchiroli Festival’ inaugurated, thousands participate.

Gadchiroli Feb. 3 (District correspondent) The three day “Gadchiroli Festival” organized by Gadchiroli Police Force was inaugurated at the hands of Minister of Food and Drugs Administration Dharmarao Baba Atram this afternoon on the grounds of Zilla Parishad here.

District Collector Sanjay Meena, Superintendent of Police Nilotpal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Kumar Chinta, Additional SP (Campaign), Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP Aheri M. Ramesh, Sub Divisional Police Officers Mayur Bhujbal, Suraj Jagtap were prominently present.

The festival has been organized with the aim of providing scope for the talent of the tribals of the district and a platform to preserve the tribal culture. The festival will last for three days and the special attraction of this festival will be tribal group dance competition, Veer Baburao Shedmake Kabaddi competition and Birsa Munda volleyball competition. Also, various self-help groups and organizations in the district have set up stalls of their products. Along with this, stalls of handicraft items will be available for the citizens present.

A cultural program has been organized during the festival. Famous artists from Maharashtra will present their art in this program and local artists from the district have also participated in it. More than 13,000 competitors from remote areas of the district will participate in the Mahamarathon -2024.

In his inaugural speech Mr. Atram announced the commencement of Gadchiroli Festival and appreciated the Superintendent of Police and his entire team. The festival will certainly help the people of Gadchiroli, he hoped. Such festivals should be organized every year so that the citizens of the district could get the platform to exhibit their talent, he suggested.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Neelotpal said Gadchiroli Festival and Mahamarathon is an integral part of activities under the ‘Police Dadalora Khidki’ and through this festival we aim to provide a platform to artisans and athletes from the remote areas of Gadchiroli to present their skill and art. Also, this festival will definitely help to create awareness among the people which is a specialty of Gadchiroli district and also to promote the traditional Rela Dance of the tribals at the state and national level.

He called upon the citizens to participate in this festival in maximum number in order to double the enthusiasm of all the athletes and artists participating in the Festival and Maha Marathon.

Mr. Sanjay Meena said the Gadchiroli Festival and Maha Marathon -2024 organized by Gadchiroli Police Force is a very commendable initiative, through which the youth and artisans of Gadchiroli have got an opportunity to showcase their sports and arts. I congratulate and challenge the citizens of Gadchiroli district for enthusiastically participating in this festival.

A large number of people, artists and police staff attended the programme. All sub-divisional police officers and the officials of the police stations, out posts are working tirelessly for the success of this program.
