Gadchiroli June 3 (District Correspondent) Mitrotsav-1986-87, a programme of get together of the school mates was organized by Mr. Uday Dhakate, a social worker at the Zilla Parishad high school here the other day.
Over 50 friends who studied together could reassemble and meet each other after the gap of 36 years in the city of Gadchiroli thanks to the initiative taken by Mr. Uday Dhakate and felt an unimaginable moment of happiness. It was an unprecedented and unforgettable event for these friends and also for the residents of Gadchiroli city.
A friendship made 45 years ago in Gadchiroli lasted for 10 years, after which many of these friends separated for higher education, and were reunited in Gadchiroli after 36 years. This unprecedented moment was experienced by the old friends with the warm feelings and were quite excited over the reunion.
The program was chaired by retired teacher Ms. Leelabai Pendam. Former Deputy Education Officer Rajanhire, retired teacher Ayalavar, retired constable Ms. Gathe, Junghare, Principal of Zilla Parishad High School Chandangiriwar, class leader Uday Dhakate were present.
The friends spread over in different parts of the country like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and other places gathered to celebrate this unique festival and shared their memories of the school days.
On this occasion, the auditorium of Zilla Parishad High School was decorated with rangoli and flowers as it was a special event. The ex-students were happy to meet the teachers of the old days. Mementos were presented to all the participants as a token of memory and love.
