Gadchiroli Dec. 2 (District Correspondent) Claiming that the NCP MLAs broke away from the party because of the fear of ED and CBI, senior NCP leader and former Minister Anil Deshmukh has said that the grass root party cadres are still with Mr. Sharad Pawar and the party is emerging strong.

Mr. Deshmukh was in the city to address the party workers meet and spoke to the media persons at the circuit house here on Friday afternoon.

There is no question of my joining the government as being rumoured by some leaders, as it was this government which got me charged in the false case, Deshmukh said while replying a question.

The farmers in the district suffered heavy crop loss due to heavy rains and flood situation and now the crops have been badly damaged by the untimely rains. However, the state government has not given any relief to the farmers, Mr. Deshmukh pointed out demanding early help to the farmers by conducting urgent panchanamas.

In surjagad Mining Project, people from other states have been given employment and the locals have been ignored, he alleged. The transportation of this project is causing many accidents and several people have lost their lives. The government should take steps to avoid these accidents, Deshmukh demanded further.

There is quite a discontent among the people against the present government in Maharashtra because of its divide and rule policy. These people will teach this government a lesson, he said.

Also present at the press conference were Mr. atul Ganyarpawar, district President of NCP, Rajendra Vaidya, state secretary, Suresh Poreddiwar, Suresh Gudadhe Patil, Adv. Sanjay Thakre, state secretaries, Prakash Taksande, senior leader, Vijay Goradwar, City President, Shemdeo Chafle, OBC cell chief,  Shyam Dhait, Naeem Sheikh and other office bearers of NCP.
