Gadchiroli Aug. 21 (District Correspondent) A legal education camp was organized at the local Gondwana Sainiki Vidyalaya in association with District Legal Services Authority Gadchiroli the other day.

The program was chaired by Principal Sanjiv Gosavi. Chief District Sessions Judge and Chairman of District Legal Services Authority U. B. Shukla, was the chief guest. Mr. R. R. Patil, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Adv. Sneha Meshram, Assistant Public Prosecutor, Ad. Subhash Chandra Uike, Vice Principal Omprakash Sangrame, Supervisor Ajay Wankhede, Military Director Rishi Vanjari, Namdev Pradhan were prominently present.

At the beginning of the program, the president and chief guests garlanded the image of Mahatma Gandhi and lit the lamp.  Adv. Sneha Meshram, while speaking on the subject of ‘Anti-Ragging Law’, guided the students and said that abusive behaviour by a student to another student in front of others, torture or forcing a student to act against his will amounts to ragging because it creates an atmosphere of terror in him. Doing inhuman misdemeanours and acts that will cause mental pressure among the students are happening in this ragging. Such an offender is punishable by law which states that under Section 4 of the Prevention of Ragging Act, she informed. She asked the students that ragging should never be done.

Adv. Subhashchandra Uike gave special guidance on the subject of ‘laws for tribals’ and told about PESA. Mr. R.R. Patil gave information about laws to solve various types of social problems under NALSA. He also spoke about ‘Protection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights’.

The Chief District and Sessions Judge Mr. U.B. Shukla who was the chief guest said that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar wrote the constitution of India and gave importance to the citizens and started the constitution with the words “We the people of India”. Explaining the importance of law, he further said that there should be no fear among the citizens and that everyone should always speak the truth.

The principal of the school Sanjiv Gosavi said that ragging never happens in the school. On the contrary, there is a sense of unity among senior and junior students in the school and all the students live together.

The program was moderated by Mr. Rahim Patel and vote of thanks was given by Shahid Sheikh. The program was attended by students and teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
